The Three Things That Refill Your Energy

If you’ve ever had one of those days where everything feels a little too full, a little too fast, and your energy just can’t quite keep up, you’re not alone. Life gets busy. Work piles up. Responsibilities stack on top of each other. And even when you love what you do, there are moments when you realize your tank is running low.
I had a day like that recently.
I woke up knowing I had a lot to do, and I wanted to stay productive. But I could also feel that I needed to refill my energy a little along the way. Over the years, I’ve learned that pushing through exhaustion rarely leads to the best results. What actually works is taking care of yourself while still moving forward.
So today, I leaned on three simple things that always help me reset. And the funny thing is… I ended the day feeling even more energized than when it started.
When the Day Feels Full
The morning started with a really great organizing session. We were busy, focused, and accomplished so much. Those are the kinds of sessions I truly love—where things begin to shift and a home starts to breathe again.
But by the time we wrapped up, I could feel it. My energy had been spent. It had been a full morning, and my mind and body were asking for a little pause.
Instead of ignoring that feeling, I paid attention to it.
Because sometimes the most productive thing you can do is listen when your body quietly asks for a break.
Three Simple Ways to Reset
There are three things I turn to when life feels a little overwhelming. They’re simple, but they’re incredibly powerful.
First, delegate.
That afternoon, we had donation drop-offs scheduled. I realized I had a teammate who might truly enjoy handling that part of the project. And she did! She was happy to take it on, and it allowed the work to keep moving forward without everything resting on my shoulders.
Second, take a nap.
Yes, really. A short nap can work wonders. It’s amazing how even a little rest can restore clarity and energy. While my teammate handled the donation drop-offs, I gave myself permission to recharge.
Third, be in community.
Later in the day, I met with a group of wonderful entrepreneurial women. We shared ideas, supported each other, laughed together, and lifted each other up. There is something incredibly powerful about being surrounded by people who understand your journey and want to see you succeed.
By the time that gathering ended, I felt completely different.
The Power of Refilling Your Cup
I started the day feeling a little tired and needing rest. But by making space for delegation, rest, and connection, I ended the day feeling inspired, productive, and deeply grateful.
Sometimes we think productivity means doing everything ourselves and pushing through no matter how we feel. But in my experience, the real magic often happens when we allow support, rest when needed, and stay connected to people who encourage us.
Those small choices can completely change the rhythm of a day.
And the beautiful thing is that tomorrow is another opportunity to step back into meaningful work with fresh energy and a clear mind.
Organizing, after all, isn’t just about managing our belongings. It’s also about caring for our time, our energy, and the way we move through our days. When we create systems that support us—and allow ourselves moments to recharge—we make space for our lives to flow a little more easily.
