I was reminded of this recently when I found myself driving through a total downpour. The roads were backed up, but I stayed composed. Why? Because I’ve built flexibility and a time buffer into my schedule—just like I help my clients do.

◈ The kitchen? Fully reset and ready for a week of not having to think about it in the morning - to go cups are clean, coffee/tea bar is stocked and lunch is prepped
◈ Laundry? Done.
◈ My organizing supplies, tool bag and tote (aka my car-is-sometimes-my-office bag) were packed and pre-loaded into the car, so I wasn’t scrambling in the rain.
◈ And that lovely little foyer closet? Organized for spring/summer so raincoat and umbrella were at my fingertips. No second-guessing, no last-minute stress.
These aren’t just chores. They’re intentional routines that make life easier.
